Dr. Tobotnik (30 Mar 2002 at 00:39)
Well, here's an update for those of you who read this to find out about my life. I'm learning how to make these -- I'll make it drone on and on, as if even I'm bored by it...

Last weekend I got really sick. Ye Olde "Reverse Peristalsis". It was the first time I threw up in about 7 years, and since I'm a bit emetophobic that wasn't a great experience. But, I also have a good immune system, so I was better by the end of the weekend.

This week was the week before spring break, so it was time to finish up various things that were due. You know, boring stuff. Today I took an unfairly long and irrelevant midterm in my algorithms class (but I maintain that manuel is just messing with us). I'm sure everybody did badly on it, so I'm not too worried. After that I gave a talk on Type Classes in Haskell to the ConCert reading group.

This week I also bought a whole load of music, something I haven't done for ages. First I got caught up in my GBV Fandom over at Luna Music. The more records I buy, the more likely I will be to buy a record player! I will need to start devoting more than one row of my CD rack to GBV, too. On Thursday I took a trip with undergraduate CS nerds to Paul's CDs and got several issues of summer indie rock. I haven't listened to it all yet, but I really like the Death Cab for Cutie.

Hrvatski is coming to Pittsburgh in a bit, and I promise not to miss this show. I haven't been to one all year.

Tonight my roommate Dave and I went to watch an arbitrary movie and do Something in the Waterfront. We went to some TGIF-style restaurant called Damon's, and I kicked ass at music trivia. Then we got ensnared by the "VIP-only" pre-opening of a duelling piano place called "Sing Sing" (or something). The waitress couldn't stop talking about my Mashimaro shirt. The only movie playing at a reasonable time was Resident Evil, so we just saw that. I don't think it was able to capture the subtle intricacies of the video game on which it was based. But Milla Jovovich is even cuter than the pixelated rendition of fictional Resident Evil character Jill Valentine in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.

I miss Sarah. But hopefully I will be visiting her this week.

Finally, my best news of the week is that I beat mva in foosball. Mark is ranked like #6, and I am last on the ladder (though I like to think of myself as "19th best", not "worst"). That should keep my score from going negative for a while...
