It's been a while since I caught you up on the bad movies I've been watching:
Payback - This was an amusing "Crime" film about Mel Gibson trying to get $70,000 that he thinks a crime syndicate owes him. I liked it.
Joy Ride - This movie sucked crap. Everything about it is a formula thriller with no surprises... If you've seen the trailer then you know the whole movie.
Cruel Intentions - It'd probably be more satisfying to download fake pornography of Sarah Michelle Gellar than to watch this turd.
The 6th Day - They set themselves up with a good theme for a sci-fi action movie (it's based on the nearly science-fact act of cloning), but the movie was pretty tepid. Something tells me the creators of "True Lies" had a hand in this.
The Watcher - Some crazy alcoholic cop has to hunt down dreamy serial killer Keanu. I think if it had a twist ending or something I would have enjoyed it. But I guess they ran out of money and couldn't afford a twist ending, or to even really blow up a building, because the end features some really crummy computer composite explosions on top of a building that's being lit up with red lights.
Behind Enemy Lines - Damn, I really thought this was going to be good, but it wasn't. Owen Wilson is a great actor in movies like "Bottle Rocket" and "Royal Tenenbaums" (and an even better writer), but he's no action star. Aside from a few cool and expensive scenes, most of the characters in this make you cry out, "Why? Why are you doing that??" and that's never good for an action movie. | |
