It's too bad the Allegheny Bar Association didn't do a better job advertising that these appellations actually <a href="http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05113/493149.stm">mean something</a>. In short, these rankings were the result of an internal review of each candidate by a committee of twenty-four local lawyers.
The League of Women Voters did put together <a href="http://pa.lwv.org/pittsburgh/election/VGSpring2005.htm">some minimal information</a> on the candidates. Even so, I think the Bar Association's recommendations were the best voter guide to judicial candidates short of the judicial record itself. |
Yeah, I eventually found out what this meant. But what a blunder to not attribute the quote on the sign! |
