-or- Shaving one's head: an economical choice.
This morning I used the last drop from my Suave shampoo bottle, the only one that I have owned since shaving my head in 2003. Total spent on hair-care products over two years: $1.79. For only pennies (I mean like 0.22 pennies) a day you too can have a sparkling fresh haircut! Take that, hygeimony! |

Why do you need any shampoo? |
Total amount spent on haircuts over the past four years: $0.00 |
That too!
Andrew: Even very short hair needs a little love. |
So you don't shave your head totally clean. Ok. |
I do that sometimes, but most of the time it is at like 2mm. |
Total amount spent on haircuts over the past 10 years (up until about one month ago): $0.00
And I have lots of hair! I just do it myself (mostly) or get a friend to do it (sometimes). But last month, I did get my first for-pay haircut in a while (I figure one per decade can be nice). |
Oh, this is all making me very, very sad. I spend so much on shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, protein treatments, shine serum, frizz control serum, gel, etc, etc (and there really is more than just that!), that I put in a separate entry in my finances spreadsheet for "haircare." Spending so little on hair just blows me away.
Oh yeah, and not to mention, bleach and hair dye, which really adds up! My haircuts cost $45, plus tip, and I have to go every 2 months or so, or else my hair gets super poofy and yucky.
sigh.

But I just had a cheery thought--no offense, but my hair looks WAY better than yours. ;) Probably not $d better (where d is the actual amount I spent since 2003... probably at least $500), but better.

haha. Mean! But, girls should probably not have shaved heads, true. |
Right, cuz who knows what would happen then. You might become... a girl with a shaved head! |
When I bought my replacement bottle I noticed that the price for Suave Herbal Ebullience or whatever is actually $1.39, so adjust these calculations accordingly. |
