mute, wet, burdened

Jeesh, so busy! Everything seems due this week, even if it has no official deadline. They are: SC Paper, Thesis Proposal, Artbus. But, I will succeed.
Also, the headphones of my MP3 player broke again this morning. I have repaired them way too many times by now (they are covered in electrical tape and wire ties, perhaps you have seen this) so I guess I will have to get new ones. This makes me very depressed because I hate running without rock'n'roll and chiptunes and I hate not running, also because it is wet outside.
Here are some things that I hate:- Broken headphones
- LaTeX
- Donald Knuth

Why do you hate Knuth? |
Invented TeX |
Yeah I recorded my last AAD with broken headphones duct-taped around my head. I had a pretty hard time getting all that adhesive gunk out of my hair in the morning... |
Should shave your head |
Is that the mp3-player you plastic-soldered together? |
No, I replaced that one by a hand-me-down from my brother. Being covered in melted plastic wasn't its only problem... |
I feel mere animosity for Knuth, rather than outright hatred.
|
You are a better man than I. |
You hate Knuth for inventing TeX? Would you prefer to write your thesis in word? :) :) |
I'd prefer it if he had done a better job, that's for sure! There are a few good things about it, but in many ways it is an abomination. Worse still is people's reverence for it, which makes it resistant to rewriting. |
\usepackage{epstopdf} |
Wasn't I just complaining that TeX should do that automatically? I can't believe that's not the default, but it's good that someone has fixed it, at least. |
