5GP – Ph.D. (expert mode)

Well, I did it! There were lots of people that came (thanks!) and it went pretty well given the little amount of sleep. If you want to see what it's all about and for some reason didn't want to read the 396 page dissertation, you can take a look at slides from my talk: defense.swf. You need a newish Flash player to view it properly, or otherwise you'll know since all you'll see are monsters and rainbows.

I still have to do some revisions for my dissertation and then there is paper and signature shuffling and margin measuring, but basically this is it. Re: grad school, put a fork in it.

I agree. I want badly to record some music again; for a while I was waiting for Vista drivers for the Delta-44, and now I've just been procrastinating on re-installing that thing. Perhaps this week.

I do have a new band, though, so there will be some new music (more slowly made) available when we get to recording it!

Thanks Turadg. I made them in Flash using a custom slideshow package I wrote (and would be happy to share).

Your item appears when my Lulu book ID is applied to google-search. ( My ID. 2060845. Any ideas On how to overcome this problem ? I obviously wish to direct friends to my item, not yours. I have reported the issue to Lulu for investigation. Best wishes, Mike.
