I listened to a "full album teaser" somewhere, I think at lizphair.com. That's good enough, you probably don't want to listen to the entirety of every song, but it is strangely worthwhile to listen to the short clips.

Yeah, it was me you talked to (you told me about your doppelganger idea when I was visiting you in PB0RG). But yeah, Exile On Main Street is not exactly the same sort of doppelganger as yours. As you say, the songs don't have the same titles, and they are each an informed (i.e. she knew the original songs) response to the Rolling Stones' songs, in some sort of conceptual or thematic way.

Ewww, that review makes me want to hear her new album (once, and then probably never again).

It's possible that this idea did come from Liz Phair, cos I remember recently talking about how "Exile in Guyville" is supposed to be a response to "Exile on Main St." with someone (Marc?). But I'll bet she listened to EOMS and her songs don't have the same names.

Speaking of LIZ PHAIR SUCKS, this is a really funny review of her new album:

I know where Tom's ideas come from: He rips them off from Liz Phair. ;-)

I don't know where ideas come from. Kurt Vonnegut's alter-ego "Kilgore Trout" says he has a small radio in his brain through which ideas are beamed.

Great idea again, how do you keep coming up with them?
I think Mix up the satellites is great.

I'm planning to make one too... now to find some time.

I have to say that "Artificial Intelligence Bomb" sounds like a title that you'd use, even if it wasn't your song.

The best way to beat Xaero on Nightmare mode if he's really getting under your skin is to go the the very back corner of the platform opposite the railgun spawn (all the way across and all the way back). There is a small ledge that juts out from the pillar that you can walk on -- it might take a couple of tries to get on there, but it can be done. Once there, align yourself with the middle of the platform, and look toward the railgun spawn so that it is barely visible. Keep as far back as you can, though, or you'll be toast. Make sure your music volume is all the way down, and listen to the sound from the jumppads. A loud jumppad sound means he's going for the BFG -- when this is the case, move over on the edge so that you can see the floating platform with the BFG and you will see him appear up there and you can get him. If you hear a softer jumppad sound, he is jumping up to the platform you're on and if you're in that spot where you can barely see the railgun spawn, he'll run to the rear of the platform, and then run right across your viewpoint where you'll have a clear shot (rail) and he'll never shoot at you. Good luck.

Yeah. It kinda makes you feel bad. Because her first album was so good, and with each album getting worse and worse I kept hoping she would snap out of it and make another good album. But, I think it's officially over. She ain't coming back. So, I'll keep listening to guyville and try to collect up as much 'girly sounds' as I can find and move on to other music. But I'm not happy about it.

Sweet, thanks! By the way, I like this new AAD a whole lot, yub. Despite your guide notes, I think that Delicate Desiderata is by favorite. And in general, I like all of the saw synth tunes that have these strange, uneasy, improper but wonderful melodies. And I like a lot of the other ones, too. Except the ones with talking. Except the part about Castlevania eyes, that always makes me chuckle. For a while I thought that the boxing song's chorus was "Jim ate shit in the rain," which for some reason was really funny to me. I could often be caught trotzing through the house singing whistfully, "Jim ate shit in the rain. Jim ate shit in the raaaaiiiin." But then after many listens, I realized what the words really were, well, not as funny, but I still like that song.

Smarter people know that having both an alarm clock and a watch is dumb. It's redundant. Smart people have alarm clocks that fit in their pockets. And they always forget to put them in their pockets. And so they never know what time it is...
