i love it |

As a matter of fact I did. In second year physics we had to measure the speed of light and I got the result that the speed of light was 3.8 x 10^8 m/s, which happened because the angle of reflection into the mirro was not quite "negligible". So how do you explain this when your professot tells you that the reason for your answer is "negligible"? I was pissed off, so I found this convoluted argument how there is a wormhole in the classroom and so on. It was not as funny as that guy's lab report but it was definitely not the boring old regurgitation of results. |
|
I can easily say that taking the GRE was the worst three hours of my life. Even worse than the time I broke my arm in second grade. Way worse than the time I got bitten by a horse. |

Shucks. Well, I guess that's not so bad, as far as snags go... |
|
I haven't heard anything from them since like last summer. Maybe all the bad publicity actually worked? |

So is that official? It'd be nice if we put all the albums in the same place. If so, I'll se you guys there soon. |

OK, here's a snag: You can only have 10 songs per "album". I suggest making a "Side 1" and "Side 2" album if your AAD has more than 10. |

I have SEEN the light as it flashed in my eyes OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and....oh. I hope no one has a Virgin Mobile phone as I will be getting everyone that works in their call center with addicted to the Siezure Robots. We will all be on the floor foaming at the mouth, so, it would be a good idea for you not to call for Customer Support for the next couple of weeks. Ahhhhhhhhh, fuzzy bunnies. SNAP! |

Tom,
I was just thinking about your site today. Could you give us an update on what is going on? Are they still bugging you? |

Yeah, IUMA seems like what I'm going to go with, provided that they let me upload lots of songs. Downsides: You don't get to be as creative with your page (although I like the "pirate" theme a lot, heh), and the uploading is not compatible with anything but IE. But uploading is fast (1 step) and they have a "stream all songs" and even a way to separate song lists into albums.

Well, from what I can tell, they (mp3.com) are (is) trying to make it look like a cushy deal to get your first 50 downloads free if you become a (paying, presumably) member... Maybe you could pick one that would be best for the AAD community cause it would be cool to have most of them all in one place. At the moment I'm liking IUMA... Oh man it's gonna take me so long to move all these songs with a 56k modem... |

I think downloads are still free. Are you looking at the emusic plug? (?) Vivendi will do anything to try to get people to pay for music again... |

Wow, they aren't even letting people download more than 50 mp3's for free. Pretty ridiculous, I think. If that iuma.com thing works out, post a little plug for it so I can move my stuff over... |

I can always host my own stuff, yeah. It's nice to have them in a sort of community where people can go searching for music and randomly find you. Mainly, I want a place where people who do the Album-a-Day project can upload their songs for free, because most of them don't have office computers with fast permanent internet connections! Right now, iuma.com is lookin' pretty good... |

Why not host them on your own PC? Or secretly stash them on a CMU box? |

Neat! |

You can't run it by double-clicking an icon; you have to start up a command prompt (MS-DOS prompt) and run it from there. You can do this by going start...run... "cmd" (win xp) or "command" (win98). Then you should cd to the directory where the program is (the font has to be there too), and run it. ie:
cd \downloads\embed\
embed tomsnr.ttf

located the Grow Fins Beefheart box new for 59 bucks (on half.com)...
they had a few more in the 60+ range, in case you were interested. (which beats the 80-90 dollar range they go for in stores).
