Time stops forever when escapist becomes ash. One can only undo.

i had at least 3 mushroom-like things growing in my basement bedroom they were growing where the rug meets the wall, behind my open bag of clean cat litter and the wall appeared moist after i disposed of them and i keep my room generally pretty clean i mean, there is this one spot in the rug where water somehow seeps into the room a certain time of the year, but it's not really THAT close to where i'm talking about, altho it IS along the same wall.

never happened before, they looked like well, i thought someone had dropped dumplings on my floor or something.

I vote for The Escapist for president of Escapeland! With Hugbot as vice-president. For surely if the Escapist meets an untimely end, Hugbot will gravitate towards his ashes, and faithfully follow his path in all policy decisions, bestowing crushing love on all citizens of the realm.

Be thankful that Bush only has one land!

The only problem with Escapeland is all those lasers... but at least you have all the time in the world to think. =)

Yeah, I thought changing positions was an easy but stylish level. I'm thinking of some others, though I'm not trying to put anyone down, because lots of players start out that way.

I think the editor should be safe. If you make a copy of your "mm.esp" file then you can always restore that. But lots of people edit on the mac, this slippery bug notwithstanding. Another thing you could do is just make a separate installation of Escape that you only use for editing. I think you can do this by just making a copy of the Escape "icon."

And noname, thank you for you're re-introduction of bombs, even if I'm not really into bombs ;-)

Bush's Heidiland...

Better:

Neophyte! What a sophisticated word...

I guess I owe you much more than one level!

BTW, I did solve my 666th level today, hy Doom! :-)))

I'd love to edit levels, but you know about my Mac-crash. I do backups once a week, but I kind of don't want to "use" the editor? Would it be safe?

Changing Positions is, in my opinion, a "non-neophyte" level, Lukas did a good work, it's nicely done and I did enjoy it a lot.

Cortney: Secretly, I had the same fantasy. But I thought Zadie's odds were better . . . something about being close friends with Salman Rushdie just makes her really hot. Much hotter than I am.

Did you read his article in Real Simple last year about vegetarianism? My favorite line is one he borrows from Mark Twain -- that "becoming a vegetarian is easy. I have become a vegetarian at least once a month."

(If you have a Carnegie Library card, you can read the whole glorious article here: http://search.epnet.com/login.aspx?direct=true&db=f5h&an=16571972)

Yeah, like Changing Positions.

you weren't disturbing me. I was half looking for a clip of the immaculate reception if you recall. Anyway, I'm glad my half-assed attempt at working led you to finding a new book!

Right, I don't eat anything that has been on my bathroom floor.

I don't know how this page got to be the one stop shop for household fungus, but I am happy to report now that I haven't seen a mushroom in my apartment for a year and a half.

The picture looks like Pleurotus ostreatus and is a good edible, but it growing on treated wood or chemicals used to clen with would make it unwise to eat.

Well I think it would be reasonable to just base it on the timezone of your server. I mean, that's where the time displayed for each posting comes from, regardless of the poster's timezone, right? That's how I've always seen any sort of online forum work.

Moira: Before I found out he was married, I fantasized that we would meet and fall madly in love .... he's a vegetarian! But maybe he and Nicole Krauss will have an amazing kid, ala Last Samurai?

I made this comment just so I could test my ability to edit it with some new jazz behind the scenes.

My comment was perturbed by editing with jazz.

It's beautiful!

OMG awesome!

And after that, you should read Zadie Smith's "White Teeth," which is the only book in the whole wide universe that I like more than "Everything."

Before I knew Jonathan Safran Foer was married I used to fantasize that he and Zadie Smith would end up together and produce ridiculously smart kids. Or at least co-authored novels.

Adam, it is already taken by Andre 3000.

CJ & JC: You two should swap books, because I bet Jason would like Last Samurai too. And then it's like, collateral. ;)

K: Yeah, though the majority of the new levels have been sort of neophyte stuff. Most of the old standbys have been silent for a while. Speaking of which.. can we expect any levels from you anytime soon? =)

Y: Thanks for the encouragement, but don't hold your breath; sourceforge may take a while. The sad thing is that I can totally compile Escape on OS X machines that I have access to, but they are newer versions, so if I do, then the version of Escape that I build won't work on early versions of OS X. Urgh.

Thanks Jason ... once I finish Last Samurai (only 100 pages left to go!) I would love to borrow it.
