i have also not been able to get Chips Challenge to run on OSX. I only downloaded an execute file that my computer had no idea what to do with, and I gave up. Anyone who can help me run Chips Challenge will be my hero! Also, I love escape, i've only been playing for a few days, but its great!

Historical footnote: (for best results imagine this text at the bottom, in a tiny font, and covered in the dust of ages) The "How did you find me?" glyph was actually drawn by tom in the box for codepoint u+007f, but I moved it to somewhere printable so that it might actually be found. Congratulations! You win... a trip to the eyeball store? That can't be right.

Awesome font! I typed out all the characters and made it into a poster. And I liked the little currency sign that said, "How did you find me?" :)

Well, thanks!

Yeah, I have no patience for ineffable notions. Keep at it while you've got the energy. ;) (I really like Kenosha, BTW)

Yeah, it's a tough call. I like the results when I take a long time to work very carefully on making something live up to more demanding standards (like ineffable notions of "balance" or "consistency" or "cleanliness" or something) but it takes SO FREAKING LONG and the looseness of the hand-drawn original is very charming in itself. I'll probably get as far as one or both cases of letters and get tired. Your numbers and ampersand are exceptionally nice, though.

But the text needs to be much bigger. This font is "larger than life."

Actually, I thought of doing that (but I wouldn't, because I like new!new!new!) too. I like the way it looks when it's straightified.

Yup, for most of these one-on-one matches, your opponent has a favorite weapon. The easiest strategy is usually to camp that. That's how I beat Hunter on nightmare.

2062. Fragman (111.191-201-80.adsl.skynet.be) – 15 Jan 2005 21:51:35 Quake 3 Done! ]
God, I'm just starting Q3 in Hardcore and some levels are so hard for me that I've the feeling the computer is cheating like crazy. Can't believe you guys can beat it in Nightmare.

So far I found "Arena of Death" quite difficult (especially Orb), and, above all "The Proving Ground" with that moth**f*ck b*tch Hunter! I just win it now, but it was close that I frag my computer screen with my keyboard so much she was cheating (I mean "shooting with an in-humane precision in all circumstances").

Actually, I found a very easy strategy as a result of my frustration: I simply camp around the LG, going from one side room to the other, and do whatever possible to keep Hunter from having the LG. At long distance, she makes a very easy target when she doesn't have the LG. I could do 10-1 with this strategy in only 2 attempts, when my best score in the previous 50 attempts was 4-10 (the previous strategy being to collect all armor as much as possible).

Extremely nice!

Since livejournal is still down, and I am addicted to posting small images, please strive to enjoy

Much like Evanston was a fun experiment in "warming up" chicago, I thought I'd try "cooling down" "Hockey is Lif" to see what came out. There is a lot of charm to the entropyful quality of hand-drawn fonts, but I also love the basic architecture of a lot of the letters in HiL, and I derive enjoyment from the exercise of trying to reinvent wheels I like.

The way the a tilts is surprising and cool, the huge lowercase k I like, and the unusual connection positions of the capital K, (or is it that unusual? I'm used to the upper diagonal connecting to the stem, and then the lower diagonal connecting to the upper diagonal - yours is obviously the converse) the leaning-back-to-the-left of the c and e, the low waistline on the H, the sharp swash of the q, and hard-to-articulate nicenesses about the G, R, N, S.

Now you can use it as your Windows default menu font.

Although it's obviously a gimmicky font, it's right brace} looks like it could be the basis for a nice looking "normal" font.

Also, I'm happy that it is a constructively valid font, having been constructed.

"Pafnuty Chebyshev" is the funniest mathematician name EVAR
