sneeeky sneeky buggers!!!!! |

Wowei's probably just teasing me, but for the record: I don't think sound and animation are more important than fixing serious bugs. Sound is a real old feature that I haven't worked on for years (and haven't even put out what I've done yet) because it's not that important. The reason to do the animation update was more about having a reason to do a new release with something to talk about (meaning more than a handful of minor bugfixes and behind-the-scenes invisible stuff). I needed to do a release because I wasn't even able to build the code on Windows or Mac because it had gotten so stale. It seems I even messed some stuff up, creating real serious bugs like the bookmark one you mentioned and the inability to run on some version of OS X. Those are top priorities.
The move counts not being up to date (it also shows "1 move" if you recover solutions or ctrl-0 them) is an old bug but I don't think it's very serious. Maybe I don't properly appreciate how annoying it is, though? In any case, my highest priority other than the bugs I mentioned above is a total redesign of the level browser, which you'll be happy to know ensures that things like move counts are always up-to-date. It also fixes some much more serious problems, like the slowness that comes from having several thousands of levels, and the sea of levels that makes it hard to find a good level to try or to feel like you've made progress when you solve it.
That said, I don't get a lot of time to work on Escape recently, mostly because of work. I wish I did... |
|
Bizzkit, you found only a workaround for a serious bug and an elder bug that is.
We have to apologize, that bug-fixing isnt as high a priority as new animations or new sounds is. Who cares about bugs, when you can hear your machine say: beep wooosh zong ;) |

Nevermind, I figured out how to make it work :) You need to close out of the load level screen and then go back for the change to take effect. |

Hi. I just found and downloaded this game today. It's a pretty fun and unique game as is, but I do have a suggestion as to how to make it better. I'm not sure if someone has already suggested this, but I think it would be nice if the Solved! (# of moves) value changed if you do better another time through the level. Say, for instance, you solved a level in 20 moves the first time through. Then, the second time through you solved it in 16 moves. The result would still say Solved! (20 moves) rather than (16 moves). Can this be fixed? |

My source codez are all open but a little bit Pittsburgh and Me specific, and they're all in SML. In any case you'd need a way to get KML files from the GPS.
I think that most GPS interfaces are standard, or that there's some small set of standards. There must be linux software out there, but I don't know about it. The Forerunner 305cx is probably not an example because it uses wireless ANT+ to sync. |

Congratulations for your new version of Escape. |

One aspect of this project really appeals to me, and that is that you get to see every part of the city. I'm tempted to try something similar but wimpy, such as biking every street in (comparably-sized) Washington, D.C.
Is there any open-source Linux type software that I could use to track progress, together with a GPS? |

I just got off the phone with CDC - Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The info the woman gave me was that 1cup BLEACH to every 1GALLON of water. To also use gloves, protective clothing, eye protective, and if you are going to be in the building or whatever to wear a N95 face mask. She couldn't answer the other parts of my questions, but she did say that bleach is the product to use. |

Oh, if only it were true. I am obsessive about some things for sure but most of my secret projects end up unfinished. :(
2: I haven't yet tried to sleep since posting it, so I'm not sure, yet. |

A+ ON TILING THE BACKGROUND IMAGE |
|
Tom: two things. Thing the one, you never do anything halfway, do you? Thing the other, will you change the first post to keep it up to date with what is actually on the home page? If so, is the process automated already? If not, how do you sleep at night? |
|
A: I do not understand your numeric utterance.
J: Thanks for noticing the infinite background. It took me almost a whole day to make it; rather a hard problem for Illustrator to tackle, it turns out.
I like the idea of having a progress meter, but I since I don't have the Pittsburgh road data in any form that I can load up, I can't actually compute how much I've got left. I could do a progress meter of neighborhoods, I guess. You're right that the site needs some straightforward way for people to follow my progress. Total number of miles run I have at hand pretty easily and it's probably the next feature to go up there. Google Maps unfortunately can't handle (or rejects on policy grounds, I can't tell) my map data, which is almost ten megabytes. Google Earth works just fine though, so other than its embedability, you can just click the pactom.kmz to zoom like crazy. |

Little post about the perfect run;part 1 to 8 are now online on Youtube HD. Enjoy watching !

Sweet. I like all of the graphics, like the road sign and the infinitely scrolling map background. You should add a progress bar to the home page showing the percentage you have left and a counter for the total number of miles run. Including a Google Map widget of all your routes would be cool also. |

Thanks! We are good at blasting it, so I'm not worried about that condition on success. |

Duckles Chuckles was the category on Monday's Final Jeopardy (they didn't use the correct name). It was possibly the most easily guessable Final Jeopardy question ever; also the contestants looked to be roughly 23.
The song is awesome by the way, but only if you blast it crazy loud. OOOHHHHHH |
