Well, it was extra confusing to those of us who only took a little Spanish in high school and forgot almost all of it. ;) But it was fun! Thanks again!

Yes, the article is flattering and says how curious was to find Tom's fonts and from there to find Tom's other projects, discovering a guy with a sense of irony and humour like us.
The website changes with each number, and in this opportunity, the idea was to be kind of confussing.
;)

Yeah, seriously. Maybe they meant, "That is not the only thing that interests us." ;)

My poor half-decade decayed Spanish seems to agree with your impression that it is mostly flattering. I liked the part at the beginning:
"Tom 7 is a programming languages researcher, but that is not what interests us." I mean, who isn't interested by programming languages research?

I mean . . . yes.

Paris, Korea, I guess.

Congrats on making it to KS, KS!

Hooray for IP listing ... now it's official -- I'm in Kansas for the holiday!

I love the "real thing direct from Paris" claim followed up with "Product of Korea." :)

I infinity-plus-one the cornbread, or something.

Wm: Told you I've got this thing down!

Kirima, don't worry about it. =) I appreciate your comments even when I don't understand. What Jason says is right though: I was describing a small success, and even though I was indeed being a little lazy by taking the time to post about it on my blog, it is indicative of me doing exactly the sort of work that I'm supposed to be doing. And I'm so close to being done!

I'm not sure even being in the same title with Gödel would make up for being in the same title with Bush. ;)

I speak French a bit worse than you speak English. Maybe I can translate your comments for Tom to make things even more zany.

3605. Kirima (245.240.186.195.cust.bluewin.ch) – 22 Dec 2005 21:47:13 Mein Gödel! I can walk! ]

My studies at our Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale did NOT at all help to get any of the maths stuff, too - I just couldn't understand, didn't get it.

But I love the book anyway.

We should write a book called:

"Gödel, Murphy, Bush"

;)

(If this is NOT funny at all, please, let me know!)

3604. Kirima (245.240.186.195.cust.bluewin.ch) – 22 Dec 2005 21:27:27 Crystal, sir ]

My English seems to be so shitty! Noone ever understands what I'm trying to say, I guess I'd better shut my mouth and stop writing comments in English.

Sorry, I didn't wan't to confuse anyone. I thought it was fun - but in fact, it's not.

(Does anyone speak/write French or German?)

3603. Kirima (245.240.186.195.cust.bluewin.ch) – 22 Dec 2005 21:19:57 UPD: Escape Beta 3 ]

The "switch-method" works perfectly, I can start the escape programm "within" US-keyboard and switch again to my normal keyboard and work as usual - whenever I go back to "ESCAPE", the US-keyboard will still be working within the game.

Got it? Ugh. My English is shitty, please forgive me!

I like my thesis. My platonic one, that exists out there in the ether. The one that, as you so astutely predicted, my Black Friday letter encourages me to start thinking about :)

3601. Alois (host131-223.pool873.interbusiness.it) – 22 Dec 2005 11:30:24 UPD: Escape Beta 3 ]
The "switch-the-keyboard" method works also for me (italian keyboard switched to US). Oddly enough, it does not work if I switch to US extended (even though brackets are mapped to the same keys)...

3598. Arthur (ctwboo101.ctw.utwente.nl) – 22 Dec 2005 04:01:46 Mein Gödel! I can walk! ]
I had that book once. I think it's the sole reason for Gödel being known to a somewhat wider public. I didn't get any of the mathematical stuff in there (but hey, I got F-grades for math). The stuff about Zen and Bach's fugas where cool.

Kirima: My friends also told me what's in it. =)

Stephen: Perhaps it is better that some things go to the grave with Gödel. ;)
