I'll be the first to say it: You have entirely too much time on your hands. Not only did you do this... you spent the time to chronicle every detail of it. Kudos.

I made them in various versions of the Cakewalk midi sequencer, using the piano roll. Cakewalk 3 was the best, really, but it doesn't run on my computer any more. I guess there are some up there that I did play on the keyboard, 16 bit ones like "Radon" and "Akasha" and "Sony", but I consider that method obsolete. ;)

The ones that sound really gritty like they came from a NES were designed to be converted by my "midimml" software into NSF files for that extra special sound.

That's a reasonable complaint.. unfortunately, hard to do anything about. (The best I could imagine would be a 2x zoom mode for very high resolutions.) On the other hand, I could complain that if you can't make out the individual pixels, your resolution is set too high for your monitor/eyesight... ;)

Great game.

The only problem I have had is that the small font is almost impossible to read on a monitor with good resolution, which is most annoying when trying to see what the record time is.

I was wondered how you made these tunes... I can't even read sheet music, let alone play that fast. :)

Arthur: you mean like, sheet music? I could provide midi files, if you like. Just give me a list of favorites, since it takes a bit of effort to convert each one. Most of these I type into the sequencer directly, so I am not sure how much human playability they have. Like, good luck playing some of the 13/8 200bpm ones. ;)

What I ask is how tunes are played please. The Laundry one even has Bach-type sequence in it.

Try TKO for this problem---it is an orange based cleaner that is super concentrated. I found it on Doug Kaufmanns show (knowthecause.com). I have been ordering it for years and it sure is great.

Yes, that's definitely my fault for making that non-obvious! Anyway, I'm glad it works. Thanks for making levels.

I added warning messages and they'll be in the next release (along with some more exciting changes!)..

It fails with US keyboard layout, too?

I just thought of something: Have you registered your player with the server? (R on the main menu?)

Yes, it's a GPL game, and I'm glad to have you test it, I just don't know what test to do!
