6767. feeling down :( (adsl-68-127-150-9.dsl.pltn13.pacbell.net) – 21 Mar 2008 18:00:15 BAD SAT SCORES ]
Ok. so I got 2000 on the SAT's
Crit. Reading: 570
Math: 720
Writing: 710

Honestly, I was so happy about my score when i saw it, I nearly pissed my pants because I thought I could finally go to the school I wanted. But then I went to school and all my genius asian friends said that because they got 1960, they bombed and would never get into college. Even 2 ppl who got OVER 2100 said their scores weren't good enough and that their going to take it again.

I want to go to UC Berkeley and major in astrophysics. HELP. Honestly, if I only have an unweighted GPA of 3.714, can I get in with a 2000? I appreciate any response. Thanks guys.

I wholeheartedly concur (about bike clothes, not one-item lists, which are just fine). But the biking crowd wears them voluntarily, and there are no competing non-absurd styles, so one might argue that the bikers deserve to look as ridiculous as they do.

Dear Tom,

Your open letters made me laugh out loud so much at work that it caused my coworkers to inquire what was so funny. This laughter destroyed the delicate illusion that I am working when I'm sitting in my cubicle. Fortunately my boss is not in the room, so the possibility of personal consequences is remote. However, my coworkers are now likely to feel more comfortable goofing off in their own cubicles, and a spiraling decline in productivity in the entire federal government is likely to commence. Thanks a lot.

Somewhat sincerely yours,

Josh

This other guy's blog is also hilarious: http://ekarj.com/
This post reminded me of an open letter:

Just because the face of a clock is oriented so that 12 is the start of a new day doesn’t mean 12pm has the right to follow 11am. Where I come from, you don’t count up a series of something and then randomly switch units. If one begins a sequence of AM hours in a base-12 numbering scheme, one would eventually expect to arrive at 12am. But you get to 12 and all of a sudden PM bursts in all like, “Who wants lunch, bitches?” Where the fuck did you come from? What have you done with 1pm through 11pm? Oh, you mean to tell me we’re going to count through those hours now? After we’ve just put up with 12pm’s childish antics? Go fuck yourself, time.

hey everyone! stop freakin out! people get into colleges, it just depends on whether its the one you Want to get in to. ok, i have to admit, 1100-1500s are pretty bad, but if u have an amazing gpa, it'll balance out! colleges look at the rigor of ur studies too, dont take all easy classes, participate in extra activites, and do service hours. that should help a lot :D
ok..college board has a perfect college matchmaker for all yall who are worried. go check it out!

Know it or not, you've all already been accepted to a college, you all qualify for community college, HEY you wanted to know if you could be accepted and the answer is yes.

Can you live away from home and go to college, yes community colleges have apartments near them, pick a community college going for conversion to 4 year so when they transition over your already in their system and there is no hassle.

Take summer classes prior at a community college, lots of basic core classes, get A's, 4.0's and you'll then be considered a transfer student and these horrible tests won't make any difference at all. If your a good person and you want to do something, set your mind to it and go for it.

Good Luck to you all

Great job on the whole discovering calculus thing; I really appreciate it and all, but why does it have to be so hard sometimes?

I know what you mean. I think it's mostly because some of my favorite authors haven't been making levels for a while. I've been busy finishing my thesis and starting a new job. I do think that, like bots, people will evemtually figure out how to use them for fun and interesting things!

Doug Kaufmann has written several books about fungus, which mushrooms are. His research spans 35 years or so. That, in my book, makes him an expert on the subject. His WEB sight is knowthecause.com. If you have dial up internet service, his site is likely to freeze your computer. If not, check out the show (video) with Barb and Frank Long. They sell Orange TKO at their WEB site, Long Life Unlimited.

I keep trying to like remotes, but it is a hard sell. Some levels find clever ways to use them, but most levels seen to just throw a whole bunch onto the level and the only way to solve the level is to keep banging on it until you find the right combination of moves. There is no logic involved. I am sure there are people who like levels like that (random guessing). I hope that more levels will come along that use remotes with some finesse. I plan to try to write one or two using them to see what is really possible.
