That is awesome. This is the reason my 2001 iBook has a little bit of electrical tape hanging out of it. Wait, no, this is the reason I opened it up. The fact that I had no idea what the heck I was doing is why it now has tape hanging out. I mean, really, there was a hundred little screws in there, all different! Yeah, as if I'm gonna keep track of all that. Just tape it back together! Oh and the catch to hold in the drive bay broke so I have that taped shut with packing tape.

I love my poor little battle-damaged jury-rigged mac.

Well, I didn't make this map, but my guess is that the canon is pretty inconsistent. Oh, well!

They're all shaped like rectangles, or nondescriptly river-damaged rectangles?

Anyway it's fixed now! I just need to sweep/vacuum up the plaster...

According the the episode "Lord of the Snows" Hook Mountian should be in the North Western corner of your map. In that episode the meteor of Thundrillium flies over Cats Lair then the Burbil village and then over Hook Mountain.

I'm thinking it looks a bit like Iowa -- what is it about those midwestern states?

Dang, Farina is so world geography powered or something--I mean unless it looks like a boot no physical object I see will ever remind me of Italian geographic shapes. Sorry Italy :(. Nebraska IS the hidden message state though. Omaha Beach.

If you have mushrooms growing out of your bathroom tiles you likely have a pretty big problem. The mushroom in this picture is some type of oyster mushroom and these mushrooms colonize woody substances that contain lignen. What this likely means is that you have a wood 2x4 or wood support behind the tiles that has been fully colonized by the mushroom fungus, and the fungus fruit, or mushroom, is growing and attracted to the moisture in your bathroom. The fungus will eat away at the wood and make it structurally weak unless you dry it out. You have one of two options. You can perform a good caulking job to deny the fungus of moisture, thus killing it off eventually, or you can tear down the walls and replace the infested wood. If you do neither eventually the wood will become brittle worse than if termites had eaten it.

The good news is oyster mushrooms are edible, and tasty!

In a long-ago apartment, whenever my downstairs neighbors got too loud I'd pick up my weights and drop them on the floor really hard a few times. It shut them up, but fortunately never left a hole (much less a message-bearing Nebraska hole) in their ceiling.

I'd check but I don't want to void the warranty.

You think there's a message hidden in the ceiling?

3695. FARINA00 (host226-98.pool8536.interbusiness.it) – 06 Jan 2006 13:41:36 That Creaking Feeling ]
There must be some hidden message there. That hole's shape reminds me of Nebraska.

No, I think that neither is the case. If you want to say it as "yesterday" then it needs to be something that happened yesterday. And if it is currently 9 PM, then that means that it needs to have happened between 21 and 45 hours ago. But if it is currently 9 AM, then that means that needs to have happened 9 and 33 hours ago. So what I'm saying is, if you're going to describe it as "yesterday", then you need to do more than just calculate or round time elapsed, you'll need to take into account how far away you are from the bounds of yesterday.

The best one I saw was on a medicine I was taking. This was the entire text on the patient info sheet:

Side Effects:
Nausea or vomiting. Small
frequent meals, frequent mouth
care, sucking hard, sugar-free
candy, or chewing sugar-free
gum may help. Not hungry.
Sunburn.

Yes, you're right, it rounds down to the nearest second/minute/hour/day/week/month/year in the interests of brevity. Maybe it should round to the nearest value instead of always rounding down.

Okay, I see a little bug in your system. Right now, for me, this topic has a "yesterday" next to its "comments" link. However, Jan 1 was not yesterday, it was 2 days ago. But I also see that the comment was at 9:58 AM and it is now 9:46 AM (jeez, am I that consistent about when I check your radar?), so I'm guessing that it's some rounding duration thing you're using to get the "yesterday" value (since the duration has been like 1.99 days) rather than figuring out if it actually was yesterday or not. Well, whatever's going on, it is currently wrong, so I just thought I'd poing that out...
