I belive the rules of chess have a similar loophole. Once the game ends, you cannot complain about illegal moves.
Thus, you can win with an illegal move that checkmates the opponent king.

This thread has been weighed, measured, and found eternal...

Heya Tom, howz tricks.

I checked the official rules and they say "end of the turn". They do confirm what I was initially expecting, however: that there is never any penalty for challenging the game-ending play.

Yes, I was actually thinking about that indefinite extension clause as well. Man I wish board games had like judicial precedent. It would be great if a couple of officers bust down your office door and were like "excuse me sir by the provisions of Milton v. Bradley 2005 I'm going to have to confiscate all your points and blank tiles"

Mike - don't you then just say "you count up points once the game is over" to fix that? I want to take jcreed's assertion further, or at least differently - if you are the last player, I can challenge you *until I play scrabble again* - it might be MONTHS later, I don't play scrabble much!

If "The game ends when all letters have been drawn and one player uses his or her last letter" then you shouldn't get any points for the last turn! So go ahead and try the triple word score +50, you can't score them until after you put down your letters, and the game's already over when you do.

I dispute your qxuavmkery. After you have placed the last tile, no player has taken a turn yet (nor will they ever!) so the time to challenge is still ripe.

I'm making a new version of the level browser that I hope will be more mouse-friendly. For now I recommend using the keyboard for almost everything. If you like you can use ctrl-v to see unsolved levels first.

Hi, this is your newest level creator here. I'm always a little frustrated with trying to find unsolved levels I haven't tried yet but it often takes a while to find one. Would it be possible to put scroll bars in Triage, Minor Leagues ect. because that would make things so much more convienent.
Also I had an idea for the wires: you could have a wire block that takes incoming signals from the top and turns them to the right and vice versa and it would do the same for bottom and left signals. Kind of like the top-right and bottom left wire blocks combined.
These are just ideas but i hope they are good ones.

Well if ur emphasis is on art...the SAT shouldn't ruin ur chances of getting in. I mean it might not look so good, but I'm sure your portfolio counts more.

Oh, not really (though people do compete a little)... but a list by number of albums is a good idea. I'll probably do that for the new site.

Hey, is the AAD project a competition? I didn't realize that...
Maybe it's nice to make a top 10 page for it then.

Thanks! Of course, the AAD competition is lighthearted...

Dude, I wish I had a good score. I did 1220 on the new SAT. I sucked bad, seriously. The savannah college of art and design would be embarrassed to see that score. Damn

I know about backup player files, and I've already recovered my old solution. Thanks anyway.

Yeah, that sounds like a bug/misdesign. If you re-solve a level with a shorter solution, it automatically replaces yours. Unfortunately there's not really anything to distinguish re-solving a level from playing back a bookmark. I'll probably change it so it never overwrites your solution, now that the game can support multiple solutions for the same level, and they're small anyway.

If you're interested in recovering your old solution it may be in one of the backup player files. I can help if you want.

I downloaded a speedrun by another person, and watched it through the bookmark system. When the playback ended, I pressed Esc, and found that my old, slower solution was replaced by the speedrun. Is this a bug?

I got a 2220 on the new SAT, I am getting a 3.8 GPA (unweighted), and I am in three AP classes. I am a junior with an array of extra curricular activities ranging from varsity level sports to trumpet. Here are answers to almost everyone's questions about what colleges they should shoot for.

SAT scores show your ability to REASON in three areas: Math, Critical reading, and Writing. Many students get great grades because they know how to play the "game" of school, but lack inherent reasoning skills in the important three areas and therefore score poorly on the SAT I's. Likewise, some students are very smart in these three areas, but are lazy. They will score high on the SAT but low on their report cards.

Addressing the IV league potential applicants, brace yourselves. The IV league-er gets above a 700 in each of the three parts of the SAT. So if you don't have a combined score of at least 2100, look somewhere else. You will still have a chance of being accepted into one of these prestigious schools, but then you will have to compete with minds more able than yours. I don't mean to sound harsh, but the SAT is somewhat proven to predict a student's success in college. Math, reading, and writing are fundamental aspects of college work. You are no longer babied with extra-credit work, and for those of you who HATE tests, you'll hate college. Your final exam, which will very likely contain a multiple choice section (Professors tend to be lazy graders), may very well determine your entire grade. This is yet another reason why you want to compete with peers with similar test taking abilities.

SAT II's indicate mastery in a subject area. If a college requires SAT II subject tests, they will definitley consider them. Again, see what the average acceptee gets before applying.

To address Oprah's SAT scores, you can still be very successful in life and still test badly. There are many aspects of intelligence, such as inter and intrapersonal skills. Sadly, skills demonstrated on the SAT are very important for college work. Life is an entirely different story.

On a final note, don't just look at your GPA when considering your college choices. Look at the rigor of your schedule just as much as your grades. A 4.0 in general courses is not all that impressive. Spice up your report card with honors and AP classes, and get to know your teachers. Letters of recommendation are very important for the selective schools.

I hope this helps.

I just noticed it was updated! Thank you, Tom. This made my day. You are a good man.

I'm actually kind of surprised there wasn't a larger backlog. Did people slow down? Or maybe my expectations were just unrealistic.

My taunting was all in good fun, of course, but you can probably catch back up with me now! I'm taking a break from AADs for a little while to do something else (my new year's resolution was to make "something musical" every day, sort of a marathon to AAD's sprint). By the way, I like your "Shithope" and "Theme from Backups" -- these two stood out to me from several of your AADs I listened to recently.
