I've upgraded my quake statistics to include flag captures. Soon: totals for each class and weapon on the individual statistics page, as well as advanced teamplay information like fragging the flag carrier.

I have a new page at mp3.com, which has many of the mp3's in my Tom 7 MP3s collection, but also some new ones. But here you have the ability to stream them, download low- or hi-fi versions, as well as read descriptions. Check it out.

I should also point out that I think they pay me some small amount for every download/play. So this is a nice way for me to give out my silly songs for free!

I now have stats up for my Quake 3 Fortress server. I wrote this program myself and I'll put up source as soon as I add most of the features I'm considering.

Christ! I consider myself a pretty savvy user, and I had this advert.dll on my system. It's part of, for instance, Go!Zilla. (See list http://www.radiate.com/press/products.html ).

Quick summary:

- installs as part of other freeware without telling you - hides in your browser's address space to avoid detection by egress firewalls - specifically avoids removal when user attempts windows add/remove programs - periodically (insecurely) checks with the master server to see if there are "updates", then downloads and runs them

This program is a big security risk (I wouldn't be surprised to see a worm based on it pretty soon). It also is apparently unstable and responsible for a lot of browser crashes. (My netscape got a lot healthier after removing it!)

If you're a windows user, delete /windows/system/advert.dll now! Note that this might break the freeware programs which use it.

I get e-mails pretty frequently asking me what my Keirsey Temperment is. I just went and did it today again, because I couldn't remember, and I got:

NF/INFP 'healer'. .. the description is sort of accurate, but I don't think I had an unhappy childhood (the only thing that my parents complained about was that I played video games too much and got bad grades).

I was pretty close on some of the little bar graphs, and looking over the site, I think that last time I took this I was an NF/INTP 'Architect', this one is a pretty sensible description of me too (despite that it mentions my Arch Nemesis 'Ayn Rand'), so maybe I'm somewhere in between these.

UPD: Tom 7 Radar (02 Jun 2000 at 00:25)

I've upgraded Tom 7 radar to separate these messages by month, since the page was getting rather long. A good enhancement to this would list the last 5 updates or so no matter what.
