Bye-bye Poindexter! (31 Jul 2003 at 17:38)
Rejoice! Poindexter is resigning over the (admittedly fascinating) "terror futures market" business. This is the same guy who brought you "Total Information Awareness," a plan for the government to collate all sorts of public databases to track your every move, in order to find out if you are a terrorist (or, whatever they want). This won't be the first time that the criminal resigned from office, but let's not give him another chance.

Good Sportsmanship (28 Jul 2003 at 13:19)
Here's a good article about great sportsmanship moments in history, spawned by Ullrich waiting for the downed Armstrong in the Tour de France. The last item was the most amazing.

Muddle! (24 Jul 2003 at 20:51)
Like Scribble did recently, my game muddle just passed one million words found!

NEW: AAD-15: Earthquake Glue (Doppelganger) (21 Jul 2003 at 20:06)

I made a new album, my 15th solo one.

This one's a little different; it's a "doppelganger" for Guided By Voices' upcoming "Earthquake Glue." Basically I took the tracklist and "covered" the album without having heard it yet.

Bob Pollard still has more albums than me, but I'm catching up...

Famicompo VOTE END! (17 Jul 2003 at 10:34)
The Famicompo results are in. I didn't win (not really a surprise), but I did get some honest votes and even some dubious praise: one voter called my song the "best song I shouldn't like." I guess the lesson is that if I want to win one of these, I should learn how to make sounds other than just straight-up square wave. ;) (Vote stuffing wouldn't hurt, either -- look at the winner's vote record.)

Soon I'll post my songs here, as well as my software "midimml" that was used to create them.

Netscape... a moment of silence (15 Jul 2003 at 22:32)
Netscape is dead. I guess they've become irrelevant now that the mozilla project produces a superior browser, but it is still sad to see them go. AOL is no longer paying anyone to work on Mozilla, and the new website is totally 2001-chic.

You've got to be kidding me... (11 Jul 2003 at 13:41)
Walking to school today, honest to god, I saw a woman get in her car and drive across the street (literally) to church. Just so you know.
