Suitcase! (21 Sep 2000 at 19:50)
Suitcase: Failed Experiments and Trashed Aircraft arrived today. This is a 4-CD box set of unreleased material by my favorite band GBV. I love it, of course! Nothing else will enter my CD changer for a while...

UPD: untitled.gif (18 Sep 2000 at 21:19)
There's a New Episode drawn by me for Don's Bizarre Comic. I've also written a cheesy new theme song for the untitled.gif character Centurion Clowno, my first foray into modern digital recording techniques (of analogue guitars and voices). The untitled.gif orchestra (who performs all these theme songs) has recently applied for a page at the illustrious mp3.com mp3.tom7.org...

Weekend of Concerts + Stuff (18 Sep 2000 at 21:14)
This weekend I saw my favorite band Guided By Voices play a 2 3/4 hour set with 3 encores! They played a few songs which I had really missed last time I saw them, including Flat Beauty, Fair Touching, and Subspace Biographies. These three are in the queue to be covered by my GBV Cover Project.

As if our ears weren't ringing enough, Karthik and Zibs and I made the 3 hour trip to Oberlin to see famous Grrl rockers Sleater-Kinney. These concerts and sleeping consumed most of my weekend, but it was worth it.

Upcoming cool concerts: godspeed you black emperor! at CMU, Elliott Smith at CMU (!!), Versus at CMU...

This week I'll be working on my thesis proposal, work for History of Design and Human Experience in Design, as well as my Compiler Design class. I'll also be upgrading my automated theorem prover (which should be called "Overkill") in order to handle the new Assignment for Constructive Logic.

I'll also probably be working on Webqueue, which is my free replacement for (and improvement upon) the useful but evil GetRight! software.

My roommate's bizarre comic has a new episode drawn by me. Actually it's got at least two more after that, too.

Content Scrambling System in ML (08 Sep 2000 at 02:29)
Anonymous ML Code for decrypting DVDs has turned up in Dave Touretsky's online gallery of CSS descramblers. Who would do such a thing?

For more information about CSS and the first amendment check out opendvd.org. This is an important issue facing computer scientists and computer users.
